**Health above all**
Veterinarian Olena Kovalenko from the Kyiv clinic "Friend" emphasizes: "A quality bed is not a luxury, but a necessity. An improper sleeping place can lead to joint problems, especially in large dog breeds and elderly animals."
Research shows that dogs and cats spend 12 to 16 hours a day sleeping, so the choice of bed critically affects their health.
**Selection criteria**
Experts advise paying attention to size (the animal should be able to position itself freely), material (hypoallergenic fabrics), orthopedic properties and ease of washing. Prices for quality beds range from 500 to 5000 hryvnias depending on size and materials.
Animal psychologist Andriy Petrenko adds: "A bed should give the animal a sense of safety and comfort. This is especially important for shelter animals who need adaptation."
